Processions Map
One aspect of the work of CPCUK, and working closely with Manchester Met University, aims to map the locations and dates of processions and parades in the Greater Manchester and Lancashire area.
In this first stage of the work we are asking for people to send information to us about processions they know about in their local area or details of ones they remember from the past. This is a snapshot of practices past and present.
We invite you to look at the details we have collected so far by clicking on a location on the map. We have attempted to verify details but if you notice an error or have more information to share with us please get in touch.
Submissions
Feel free to use the form to share your knowledge of the parades, carnivals, movements and processions taking place across the country. You don’t need to have all the answers - partial information is still incredibly valuable, and duplicate entries are welcome. Further archival research will help us fill in any missing pieces later.
